Proton Advance partner announcement got us Black Friday deals for 26 Oct - 30 Nov 2026 for VPN, Email, Storage, Passwords and Unlimited Bundle. You pick your paid feature. You can check the entire bill and renewal info before you pick a plan. I got these deals from the advance partner announcement. Got the plans features from public sources. Note that I haven't validated the checkout availability, price and eligibility for this campaign. You need to check the checkout and eligibility before you pay.
You begin by picking the paid feature you want.
1. Check the announced offers
Plan | Announced offer |
|---|---|
VPN Plus | 75% off for 24 months |
Mail Plus | 60% off for 12 months |
Drive Plus | 60% off for 12 months |
Pass Plus | 60% off for 12 months |
Proton Unlimited | 50% off for 12 months |
Announced offer window: 26 October to 30 November 2026 No mention of a launch hour or timezone from Proton, so best to check you can see the promotion before purchase. Without knowing what currency, renewal prices or reference price for computing the % discounts, you don't know the total that will need to be paid from just looking at the %. Don't assume the 60% headline means you get an additional 60% off whatever the annual price you see today.
2. Choose between one product and Unlimited
Pick a one product plan and 1 required paid feature. Compare Unlimited for multiple premium features. Only include subscriptions that you can replace. VPN Plus: get premium VPN + server location selection + more devices to connect. Keep Mail + Drive + Pass free. Compare the VPN plans (opens in a new tab) Check out the VPN Plus offer when it goes live (opens in a new tab). Mail Plus: get 15 GB + 1 custom email domain + larger mailbox size + folders/labels. Compare the Mail plans (opens in a new tab). Check out the Mail Plus offer when it goes live (opens in a new tab). Drive Plus: get 200 GB. Make sure to count your files and photos before paying for space. Compare the Drive plans (opens in a new tab). Check out the Drive Plus offer when it goes live (opens in a new tab). Pass Plus: get unlimited hide-my-email aliases + authenticator items (2fa codes). Free has unlimited logins/devices and 10 aliases. Their plan explanation (opens in a new tab) says you get up to 3 Free authenticator items. In their pricing comparison (opens in a new tab), it's a paid feature for authenticator. Make sure to check how much you get for Free before upgrading. Check out the Pass Plus offer when it goes live (opens in a new tab).
Proton Unlimited (this comes with premium Mail, VPN, Drive, Pass, Calendar). Proton has 500 GB and 1 user listed in the bundle comparison (opens in a new tab). Look at what they include and how that matches up with what you need (storage, how many people need accounts). if you're wondering about spending money on a password manager... we have a Proton Pass vs Bitwarden Free comparison which covers what you get with Free for both of them. You could also just start with Proton Pass Free (opens in a new tab) and go from there to see if you want to upgrade to a paid plan.
Watch out
VPN is for 24 months. Unlimited is for 12 months.
So break out the upfront costs vs 2 year cost. Note for unlimited, just use the advertised renewal cost for year 2 and don't assume that black friday discount carries over.
3. Compare what you will pay
For each option being considered capture this checkout information:
- Total due now (with currency, taxes displayed, months)
- Effective per month (total above / months) - pay attention to billing language (you can be required to pay for the whole term even if there's an equivalent per month amount)
- Renewal: amount due and period. (If introductory period is 24months, it doesn't tell you the renewal period or cost)
- Eligibility (existing users should see if this applies to their account and what happens to the remaining subscription).
To compare over two years take the total for the VPN offer over 24 months. For the declared annual Unlimited offer, add the total for the first year to the declared amount for what will cover the second year. If you're not clear on that renewal cost, you're not looking at the two year comparison properly.
Bundling can save money if you're replacing other services you were going to continue using, look at those renewal dates and account for any overlap while you're migrating your data.
4. Check renewal and cancellation before buying
Proton's subscription site renewal is automatic. According to their subscription terms (opens in a new tab), for example VPN Plus is cancelled effective at the end of the current cycle. Some of their other subscriptions may need to remove paid features before downgrading your subscription. So make sure you understand the process for the one you select before you assume cancellation prevents next payment. Protons partner links are supposed to be redirected to Black Friday landing pages when the campaign begins. Make sure the product, discount and term match up on the offer page and checkout page. (you don't even have to purchase to compare).
If the advertised deal does not appear
Make sure before payment that a campaign was announced and started, that you're in the right billing period and that you are eligible for the offer in terms of your account. If you still see a different deal after this, please ask Proton support for help before payment. Don't rely on that you'll get the discount added after purchase!
