Create CSV text from separate records in Make
Combine two records into one CSV text output in Make Free. Choose fields and headers, then check the quoted comma before saving a real export.

Use Make's Create CSV module to combine two fictional records into CSV text. This exercise keeps the result inside Make.
Before you start
You can create a Make Free account (opens in a new tab) or sign in. No other app connection is needed. Keep the practice scenario Inactive and use Run once.
1. Create two source records
- In Scenarios, click Create scenario. Name it CSV export practice at the top left.
- Add JSON > Parse JSON. Leave Data structure empty and paste the sample below into JSON string.
- Save the module and scenario. For a warning that only says the output is unused, choose Save anyway.
- Click Run once, then Run anyway for that warning. Inspect the JSON result: the top-level array produces two bundles.
[{"item":"Notebook, pocket","quantity":2},{"item":"Pencil","quantity":1}]
2. Choose the CSV columns
- Close the result panel. Click the plus to the right of JSON, search for CSV and select Create CSV.
- Set Source Module to JSON - Parse JSON [1].
- Open Aggregated fields and select item and quantity.
- Keep Include headers in the first row set to Yes. Use Other as Delimiter, a comma as Delimiter character, and LF as Newline.
- Save the module and scenario.
Quick takeaway
Create CSV combines the source bundles into one text value. The header and delimiter settings define the table. It has not saved a file to your computer or cloud storage. Inspect the text before choosing a separate destination action.
3. Check the single output
- Click Run once. Handle the unused-output warning as above.
- Open the result bubble above Create CSV.
- Under Output, check that one bundle contains text with the header and both rows below.
"item","quantity"
"Notebook, pocket","2"
"Pencil","1"
The comma inside the notebook name stays inside quotes. Check the header order and how your receiving app interprets each column before using a real export.
When you add fields, check their order in the generated header row. The order shown in Aggregated fields can differ. If you parse the CSV again, enter CSV headers (recommended) in the exported order. A successful run can still put values under the wrong names, so inspect each parsed record before mapping an action.
If a column is missing
Run the JSON source with representative data, then reopen Aggregated fields. Include every required field and choose the source that emits the records you intend to combine. For a different receiving app, match its documented headers, delimiter and newline requirements.
Using a spreadsheet may be simpler for a one-off export. Check the Free-plan limits before adding scheduled actions.
