Create a recurring event that ends in Proton Calendar
Set up a finite weekly event in Proton Calendar Free, check its time zone and understand one occurrence versus the whole series.

A repeating calendar event should stop when the task stops. Create a weekly practice event with three occurrences, then check its saved repeat description.
Proton Calendar Free supports recurring events (opens in a new tab). A Free Proton account is enough for this web-app task.
Before you start
You need a Proton account for the Calendar web app. Create a Proton Mail Free account (opens in a new tab), which includes Calendar, or sign in with your existing account. Use a fictional event and leave participants empty for practice.
1. Set the first occurrence
- Open Proton Calendar (opens in a new tab).
- Click New event. Enter Practice weekly review.
- Choose a date and short time slot. Check the displayed time zone. Your zone may differ from the example.
- Leave participants empty. For quiet practice, remove the event's notification rows with their remove buttons.
2. Set an ending
- Click Does not repeat, then Custom....
- Set Every to 1 Week. Keep the intended weekday selected.
- Select Ends after and enter 3 events.
- Click Done, then Save on the event form.
Quick takeaway
Set the first date, time zone and end condition before saving. Ends after 3 means three occurrences in the series. Keep guests and reminders out of a practice event. Reopen the saved event and read its repeat description before relying on it.
3. Verify the series
Open the saved event. It should say weekly on the chosen weekday, three times. Check the next two weekly occurrences, then move forward one more week and confirm that there is no fourth occurrence.
When editing, read the choice between This event and All events. Proton's recurrence guide (opens in a new tab) explains which occurrences each choice affects.
If the time or repeats are wrong
Check the first occurrence's time zone and Custom settings. Decide whether to change one occurrence or the series before saving. Leave participants empty until the result matches your intended schedule.
To practise a short repeating series, start with a Proton Free account and Calendar (opens in a new tab). Use the fictional event above, leave guests empty and check all three occurrences before relying on the schedule.
